Stripes and Dots

It feels pretty great being able to share these outfits that I never got the chance to post. Don't worry though there is plenty of new stuff on its way! 

I love this floppy hat because it can take any outfit to that glamorous level in a flash! 

I know I have vowed this before, but this fall I am planning on utilizing all of my accessories. It really only takes about a minute more in the getting ready process to add a hat or a scarf or even just a statement necklace or earrings. 

By trying all of these pieces, I can figure out which accessories work the best in my personal style. And being someone who likes a lot of different things, narrowing that down is not the easiest thing to do. 

How have you developed you own style over the years? Is comfort your driving force? Or is it the fit of the clothes? Different textures? Always classic? Or more on the trendy side?

I haven't worn this dress since last year and I decided I needed to add an element to emphasize the waist more. I decided to add this vest! When I put the vest on I felt like the outfit totally had a 70's vibe to it! So I added the chunky wedges and the floppy hat and my dad's old ray bans! Look complete! 

This was such a fun shoot because my nephew and sisters were visiting. Anytime anyone goes outside he has to go with them! He loves being "outdide" as he calls it, so he had to run outside with us to get some quick snaps of this outfit. He had green sock on and a shirt and his diaper (so fashionable!) and he kept running away from us and sitting on the curb, he loves sitting in little seats. I of course ran after him, yes in these shoes. He definitely is a quick little nugget! If you follow Lipstick & Chiffon on facebook you can see one of the outtakes from the shoot!

For a Fall temperature Winter day I chose to wear this casual ensemble for a lunch date! The sweater and long-sleeved tee was perfect for the slight chill. I don't wear these boots very often but I do love them, they just need more breaking into. I love how they looked with the faux leather striped Vince leggings.

More and more lately leggings, a sweater and boots have been my uniform. One thing I am going to work on this year is to utilize my wardrobe to its full extent and not let pieces just sit around lonely. So stay tuned for some tres chic pieces to be featured soon!!
