My Favorite Flannel

Yesterday I had a great trip into DC with Jenna, my oldest friend. We walked around the National Gallery looking for a piece of art for her to write a paper on for her art class.

Outfit Details:

top: Ralph Lauren (similar)
leggings: Forever 21 Ankle Length Leggings
boots: Restricted via Off Broadway (similar)
bangle: Bauble Bar
ring: Charming Charlie; BCBG MaxAzria
earring: "Little Venus" shop on Etsy

Being in that wondrous place filled with so many beautiful pieces of artwork drenched in history, I was transported to my university days, which I spent studying the various eras and styles and what influenced these amazing artists to create these timeless pieces. It made me sad that much of my knowledge of art history had buried itself deep within my psyche. This trip gave me a new resolve to get back to studying and not let myself lose all of those years of research and studying of a topic that truly interests me!

Basic Skincare Wardrobe

Basic Skincare Wardrobe

It is extremely important, no matter how simple, to have at least a basic skincare wardrobe to keep your skin happy and healthy.

1.Cleanse

This is a very important step. There are a variety of cleansers out there to choose from: foam, cream, foaming cream, water and face wipes. It is best to choose a cleanser based on your skin type, a foaming or gel cleanser for oily skin, any cleanser for normal skin, or cream cleanser for dry skin.
If you cleanse your skin thoroughly at night, then it should be still clean in the morning so you can just go right to toning your skin just to get off the excess oil.

Here are two options for you:
2. Tone

Using a toner is often an over-looked step and thought to be not necessary. Trust me it is a necessary step, it helps to balance the skin's pH so that your skincare can start working immediately after you put it on. It also helps to really get all the dirt out of your pores.

Here are some options:

Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner
Neutrogena Alcohol-free Toner-$7.99
Dior Gentle Toning Lotion with Velvet Peony Extract 6.7 oz-$33
3. Moisturize

The final step in your skincare wardrobe is to hydrate your skin! If you have very dry skin go for a cream for normal/combo skin types you can try a lotion which is a lighter formula.

This is a moisturizer I love using:
Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer (SPF-30) 2 oz - $26.00

I hope this little guide helps you all begin to build you own skincare wardrobe. Start off small and add things as you feel comfortable. Trust me it doesn't take as long as you may think to keep your skin healthy!

Dior 'Couture Collection' Brush Set (Limited Edition)

Dior has some amazing sets and products in their Holiday collections! They are extremely practical and beautiful. The eyeshadow sets are perfect for traveling or for someone who just needs the basics. The brush set is also an amazing deal! The brushes are pretty much full size just with a shortened handle to make packing light easier.

I am so glad they brought back the Diorific nail and lip collections! These colors are not only classic, but they have great pigmentation and they last! The lipsticks are based on the older long-wear, semi-matte formula contained in the packaging brought back from the past. The Diorific collections not only look beautiful on, but they add a chic style to your vanity too!

Don't wait to grab you favorites because they fly off the shelves! Get some Christmas shopping done early or treat yo self!
