This is hopefully the last time you will see snow in one of my outfit photos. I took this right before I went on my trip to Tucson and Cali, hoping that this was the last time it was going to be cold and that there would be no more snow when I got home from my trip.

So neither of those things were true when I got back! It definitely snowed last week, granted I didn't see it because I was asleep during the episode and it didn't stick, thank God! But the weather really hasn't gotten much warmer. Yes, there have been days of beautiful weather but they are always followed by a few days of chilliness. When we do have warm days they are most often accompanied with some type of precipitation. Gag to all of the above!

In hope that spring will be fully here soon, I took the time to style some spring-ish looks, one may have been pushing it a bit, but oh well! Spring will be here soon enough and I am more than ready for it! Stay tuned for them!

I am not of the mindset that you can't wear white after labor day, of course I just pair it with different pieces to make it a more weather appropriate. As in this outfit where I wore my amazing new sweater I got from Nordstrom Rack a bit ago that is so so soft and warm. For my shoes I paired these warm, sturdy White Mountain booties to keep my toesies warm and to keep from slipping. The dark components help to winterize the outfit, even though the whole time during this shoot I was imagining myself in warmer weather because the wind was so cold and biting right through my clothes. 

Some quick shopping advice: If you have never shopped at Nordstrom Rack and don't mind a somewhat cluttered and crowded shopping location then you must start! I find the best pieces there when I have the time to look and always at very low prices. I get a lot of my wardrobe staples there; like my black shirts for work, blazers and fun jewelry. So next time you need something try out Nordstrom Rack and see what you find! I always prefer shopping there earlier in the day during the week and find those are the times when the stores are almost deserted so you won't get claustrophobic.

For a Fall temperature Winter day I chose to wear this casual ensemble for a lunch date! The sweater and long-sleeved tee was perfect for the slight chill. I don't wear these boots very often but I do love them, they just need more breaking into. I love how they looked with the faux leather striped Vince leggings.

More and more lately leggings, a sweater and boots have been my uniform. One thing I am going to work on this year is to utilize my wardrobe to its full extent and not let pieces just sit around lonely. So stay tuned for some tres chic pieces to be featured soon!!

Morning Sunshine

The weekend before last Jon and I went on a mini-vacay to the Hillbrook Inn & Spa in Charles Town, WV. These were taken our first morning there, before we headed over to the main building for breakfast. The morning light was so pretty to take some quick photos in this comfy outfit. After breakfast I had an amazing massage. I will share more details about our stay and how wonderful a place Hillbrook is!
