I Eat Fashion for Breakfast

I Eat Fashion for Breakfast

This little ginger is my nephew Wyatt, and he is the cutest little monster and I love him so much. One of his favorite things to do is eat magazines (or chew on them, we don't actually let him ingest the paper). Enjoy this cute little series of photos as he demolishes the corner of my ELLE Magazine. Feel free to insert captions in the comments section.

Product Review: Dior Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil

Dior Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil  - Sephora

I was so excited last fall when this product came out as I mentioned in my past: New Exciting Product in Dior! I knew I would love the texture, but was unsure how my skin would like it. A few months ago I finally bought it after sampling it and am so in love with this amazing product!

I can apply it directly to dry skin, so I don't have to splash water on my face and then feel around for the soap and do everything blind (nice bonus with this product) or I can apply it to my face and then just jump in the shower to rinse it off. I usually massage my whole face and then for my lashes I close my eyes and brush down so as not to rub my eyes too much. Once I rinse it off my skin feels soft and not greasy and all I have to do it use a little bit of eye makeup remover to get the rest of my eyeliner off!

It truly is suitable for all skin types and will keep your dry flaky bits hydrated and the oily bits controlled and soft.

Here is a bit more in-depth information about the product. There is no added fragrance just for shits and giggles, the wonderful smell is from the ingredients because Dior loves using plants in their products for their useful qualities, the fact that they smell beautiful is just an added bonus. The main plant ingredient is Pure Lily extract, which helps to stop inflammation; and is great for my at times sensitive skin. By cleansing the skin, and maintaining its natural hydration at the same time, the skin in then able to achieve a naturally glowing complexion.

For all of you who have been nervous about trying an oil cleanser, trust me this one is worth every penny! Try it out for yourself!

Hello Spring Wedding Inspiration

Vendors:
photographer: Megan Chase Photography
makeup: Me (Carolyn Thombs Makeup Artistry and Consulting)
florals and concept design: EightTreeStreet
cheesecakes: Sweet Pearlz Cheesecakes
model: Angelica Epps

This shoot was thrown together last minute by Maribel of EightTreeStreet for Pretty Pear Bride Magazine. It was such a pleasure working with all of these women, some of whom I have worked with before. All the pieces that everyone brought to the table fit perfectly together!

The shoot wasn't too formal, but had the perfect amount of springtime inspiration for all of those Spring brides out there needing some ideas for their nuptials this year or for next year (yes I know Spring is almost over, better late than never). I hope you enjoy these beautiful colors and let them take you to the few Spring days we have actually had this year; because to me it feels as if we jumped directly from Winter to Summer.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Memorial Day Weekend! And a special thanks to all those who have served and who continue to serve for this country to maintain the freedoms we hold so dear!

Because There is No Such Thing as Too Many Flowers...

After my birthday and Easter the house was filled with so many flowers, as well as things blooming outside. So of course I had a fun afternoon of creating beautiful shots with the flowers as my models. I hope you all aren't tired of seeing all these flowers up on the blog, because I just can't get enough of them! They are one of my favorite things to photography and bring such joy to my eyes when I look at them, whether in person or in an image.

I hope these bring some joy to you on this beautiful Spring day!

p.s. if you would like any of these to be available for purchase as prints please let me know!

Fresh and Bright

Photography by Chelsey Corgan
models: Erin Anastos at The Artist Agency and Chrissy Powell

This was a fun beauty shoot I did with Chelsey, she wanted to have bright backgrounds and some pretty makeup that popped. The models were absolutely gorgeous and so fun to work with!
I love shooting with Chelsey because we are always on the same page and have a great time on set!

How do you all feel about using pops of color in your makeup?

Stripes on the Beach

Outfit Details:
top: Asos
shoes: Coach

Two weeks ago Jon and I made a nice little trip to Long Beach, NY to visit my cousin and her hubby. We also made our way into the city to visit a few more of my cousins and to have some amazing pizza, since this was Jon's first time in New York.

The Friday we were there we took a long walk on the boardwalk and took these photos. Even though the weather was a bit gloomy it was still an amazing relaxing time and i loved just being near the water.
I was so excited to wear this crop top from Asos with this high waisted skirt because they just went so well together! A crop top for me is perfect for high waisted skirts or for wearing underneath tops because it adds the right amount of coverage without adding bulk. Because when wearing an a-line or bubble skirt no extra bulk is needed!

What are your thoughts on crop tops?
