Stripes and Dots

It feels pretty great being able to share these outfits that I never got the chance to post. Don't worry though there is plenty of new stuff on its way!

I love this floppy hat because it can take any outfit to that glamorous level in a flash!

I know I have vowed this before, but this fall I am planning on utilizing all of my accessories. It really only takes about a minute more in the getting ready process to add a hat or a scarf or even just a statement necklace or earrings.

By trying all of these pieces, I can figure out which accessories work the best in my personal style. And being someone who likes a lot of different things, narrowing that down is not the easiest thing to do.

How have you developed you own style over the years? Is comfort your driving force? Or is it the fit of the clothes? Different textures? Always classic? Or more on the trendy side?

Rainy Monday

Today was a day full of fashion mishaps!

hat: Mossimo at Target with vintage pin; top: Gap; pants: Forever 21; shoes: Charlotte Russe

First of all I decided to wear my comfortable ripped black jeans. Big mistake. As the day went on it got more and more humid. Black jeans were a bad choice today.

Yes, my outfit was cute and but only comfortable when I was inside my car (AC full blast) or in the various places where I had to go for my errands today.

Next mistake of today was the sheer top and the white tank when the forecast for today was scattered showers all day (more like down pours). So I went with my mom to take Bryan (who you have met in a previous post) and Trooper (who I am dog-sitting for this week). We thought there was a lull in the rain... but nope! That rain started up in the middle of our walk and absolutely poured sheets of rain on us! This is then when Trooper decided to try and run around and play in the wet grass, which leads into wardrobe mistake number 3.

So before the walk I decided to pop these shoes on to make sure they were as comfortable as I thought they were in store. They definitely were extremely comfortable, but these shoes mixed with wet grass and crazy pup trying to wrap me up in the leash = a slippery situation and quite dangerous for my ankles. But don't you worry my ankles and most importantly my shoes are all in one piece!

So by the end of today I was soaked to the bone and my shoes were proving to be quite difficult to walk in when they were drenched.

Next time I am definitely going to pay closer attention to the forecast before making my wardrobe selections in the morning.

My First Grown Up Bag

Back in high school I was more of a shoe and clothes fanatic, I hadn't really gotten obsessed with bags yet. Then I asked for a nice bag for Christmas and that is when it all started: I was not a shoe, clothes and bag person!

I was so excited when I opened this Christmas morning and used it all the time (as you can see with a closer look)! This was that fateful catalyst in adding one more thing to my list of need-to-have items. No more inexpensive, cheap looking bags for me, nope. I wanted them to either look really expensive or be on the pricier side. There was no training my eye to be attracted to anything else.

bag: Liz Claiborne; top: BCBG Girls; shorts: H & M (similar); bracelet: Forever 21; shoes: Talbots

I have not used this lovely in a while, but using it the other day has made me want to dust those cobwebs away and show it off once again!

What was your first nice bag?
