Summer Stripes

Outfit Details:
top: Asos
sweater: Forever 21
skirt: I Heart Aardvarks
heels: Kelsi Dagger via Thredup
earrings: boutique in Spain
ring: Boutique in L.A.

I am sure you guys remember this skirt from last summer. I wanted to wear it again but switch it up a bit. Last year's ensemble was more simplistic and sleek. This time I made it more casual but added the heels for an evening out chic-ness factor. I can easily rock this during the day with some flippies and switch to the heels for happy hour or date night.

This skirt does make me think of summer because of its easy wearability and multiple outfit options. Maybe this fall and winter I will see if I can style it in a way to compliment those seasons!

Hot Pink Sling-backs and Garden Florals

Outfit Details:
shoes: Zara

Ever since I saw the floral dress I put in this post, I went on the hunt to find my perfect floral dress! Not an easy task I might add. So I asked Holly from I Heart Aardvarks Boutique if she knew of any dresses matching the description of what I was looking for. She came back with a few amazing options, this was one of them! Jon got me my 2 faves for my b-day, best guy ever! This was my favorite favorite!

I got these shoes while in Miami and it so happened that Zara was having a super major sale! I don't have a lot of sling backs, or pink shoes so I figured this was a necessary purchase and plus they go perfectly with this dress!

Btw loving Zara's new collections! Check it out!

Stripes on the Beach

Outfit Details:
top: Asos
shoes: Coach

Two weeks ago Jon and I made a nice little trip to Long Beach, NY to visit my cousin and her hubby. We also made our way into the city to visit a few more of my cousins and to have some amazing pizza, since this was Jon's first time in New York.

The Friday we were there we took a long walk on the boardwalk and took these photos. Even though the weather was a bit gloomy it was still an amazing relaxing time and i loved just being near the water.
I was so excited to wear this crop top from Asos with this high waisted skirt because they just went so well together! A crop top for me is perfect for high waisted skirts or for wearing underneath tops because it adds the right amount of coverage without adding bulk. Because when wearing an a-line or bubble skirt no extra bulk is needed!

What are your thoughts on crop tops?

Hello Green!

Outfit Details:

blazer: Rachel Roy via Macy's
wedges: Ann Taylor

I love that nature has decided to look lively again! Green is finally popping up everywhere!

I borrowed this skirt from the I  Heart Aardvarks  boutique and love the outfit I assembled with it. I am especially glad that the dogwood was in bloom because it acted as a beautiful accent for some of the images. I paired mostly black with the green so it popped more. This Rachel Roy blazer was a dream when I found it and really love the black and white flowers and black paneling paired with the vibrant green.

At first I was a little wary about the length of the skirt and since I have a shorter torso sometimes things that are flowy and cut at my waist, seriously truncate my body. So by pairing a form-fitting blazer that was longer, it helped to elongate my torso and the sky-high wedges kept my legs from disappearing in the length of the skirt. This length may not be the best for someone who is shorter, just opt for the maxi skirt and let that length go all the way to your feet.

Does this length of skirt make anyone else nervous about trying it? ...I will say that once you find your perfect pairings to make it work; trust me, the jump to trying it is worth it!
