Another Work Outfit

Outfit Details:
top: unknown
pants: via Kohl's
heels: Talbots
bag: Danielle Nicole via HauteLook
jewelry: vintage and Olytata

By now I am sure most of you have gone back to work after the nice break that the holidays bring. However last month was pretty busy for me, so I am taking this time to recollect and reorganize my life (gotta start on those taxes). So I am going to take January to work a little bit, when a job pops up, but I am not going to try and fill up my schedule to the gills! I am going to work on finishing projects that have been started and unfinished for months and years and to give a little TLC to this blog and the behind the scenes work of my business.

So, I guess in the end I am going to be filling my schedule with work, but I am going to be doing it at a nice leisurely pace, so I can reduce stress and work on some final steps in my wedding planning! Eeks it is in 9 months!!

So stay tuned for some great things coming to Lipstick & Chiffon this year! Fun interviews with beauty and wellness professionals to help get yourself pampered and energized; also more wedding planning news and of course some awesome outfit posts and amazing makeup tutorials!!!

Stay warm and take some time for yourself so the winter doesn't get you down!!

Work Wear Basic

Outfit Details:
blazer: Talbots
top: Asos
belt: BCBG MaxAzria
pants: Kate Spade
shoes: via DSW
bag: Danielle Nicole
watch: Cluse
ring: Olytata's

This linen blazer was such a steal and a great addition to my wardrobe! It is a great piece to throw over some clothes for work to add some flair to an otherwise basic basic work outfit.

I can also pair this with a dress to either tone down some dressy-ness or bring a casual dress up a notch! A linen blazer doesn't make it feel as constricting or boring as a basic black work blazer, which you may associate unhappy feelings with because you probably have to wear it out of obligation instead of want.

So make sure you have some "fun" blazers in your wardrobe to help add a polished look to your basic work wear without the snooze-fest.

Early Call Times

Outfit Details:
top: gift from bestie
sweater: Loft
pants: Cottonon via Thredup
shoes: Talbots
ring: Olytata
bog: Nine West

On works days when I have super early call times, for example up at 3 am and work at 5am...eeks, I know I never want to wear anything fussy, unless it is required. So I go for some easy staples and hope that the temperature agrees with my choices.

I chose this embellished black top to go with my patterned white jeans, which I cuffed at the ankle. And just in case it got chilly I threw on the little cardigan for warmth and to soften the black. Of course I wore my trusty nude Talbots sandals because they are comfortable for walking and standing! The fun accessory I chose is my lapis lazuli ring from Olytata in Tucson.

This outfit was practical, comfortable and professional for the early call time I had and eliminated any stress in trying to over plan an ensemble, especially at such an unsightly hour of the day.

Aqua & Beige

Outfit Details:

top: via Thredup
shorts: Old Navy
heels: Ann Taylor Loft via Thredup
ring: Olytata
necklace: vintage

I got this top while looking for some new fresh black pumps on Thredup. The top was pretty inexpensive and I thought why not! A few weeks ago we had a day that wasn't too humid, so I paired this top with my Gap aqua polka dot shorts and these simple black strappy heels also from Thredup. Its a simple but chic ensemble that works for those cool summer nights (hopefully we get more of those soon) or for beach breezes.

I have been trying to add more tops like this to my wardrobe because they are easy and comfortable to throw on when I don't know what else to wear. It is loose and goes well with casual shorts or a fitted skirt.

Simple chic.

What is your simple chic go-to top?
