Early Call Times

Outfit Details:
top: gift from bestie
sweater: Loft
pants: Cottonon via Thredup
shoes: Talbots
ring: Olytata
bog: Nine West

On works days when I have super early call times, for example up at 3 am and work at 5am...eeks, I know I never want to wear anything fussy, unless it is required. So I go for some easy staples and hope that the temperature agrees with my choices.

I chose this embellished black top to go with my patterned white jeans, which I cuffed at the ankle. And just in case it got chilly I threw on the little cardigan for warmth and to soften the black. Of course I wore my trusty nude Talbots sandals because they are comfortable for walking and standing! The fun accessory I chose is my lapis lazuli ring from Olytata in Tucson.

This outfit was practical, comfortable and professional for the early call time I had and eliminated any stress in trying to over plan an ensemble, especially at such an unsightly hour of the day.

Casual Green Skirt

Outfit Details:
top: Asos
necklace: J'Adorn Designs
skirt: Bcbg Max Azria
heels: Loft via Thredup
bag: Nine West
ring: vintage

My ideal casual chic outfit for going about doing chores or getting work done is this ensemble or something similar. The formula: skirt + crop top/tee + heels =  ready to get shit done!

However I am not this stylish from day to day because of a variety of reasons. I am either having a lazy day and am not planning on seeing anyone so I just wear workout clothes or my pjs even eeks! Or I want to dress nicer, but don't feel like getting all the questions regarding why I am dressed the way I am. This happens because where I live people are not necessarily prone to dressing on the chicer side of things. Comfort is the main priority. And there is nothing wrong with this, it is just the way things are. The time we live in is very different from the time before the 70's, where more people took pride in what they put on. Now I am not saying everyone wears sweats on a day to day basis or just throws on whatever they pick up, but there definitely are a lot of people who do. And at times I am one of them.

Considering all of this I have decided to become more conscious on what I am wearing and what I plan to wear on a day to day basis. I have nice clothes and damnit I am going to wear them! To do this I am going to be better about laying out my outfits each night or if a busy week is ahead of me then do it for the whole week. Anyone else with me on this?!

Outfit Details:
top: Madewell
shorts: Loft
heels: Calvin Klein via Nordstrom Rack
bag: Nine West
sunglasses: Ann Taylor
earrings: Chloe & Isabel

Such a simple ensemble, but definitely a solid one for breezy summer days when you aren't dripping in sweat. This outfit can be even more casual paired with my low nude sandals or little flats. I wanted to add a level of chicness to this outfit so I paired my nude heels with it.

My favorite days during the summer are when the sunshine is bright and warm with a beautiful soft breeze to keep things cool. This kind of day is great for hanging at the beach or on the lake and then popping this casual outfit on for a night out!

What is your ideal summer day?

Stripes & Denim

Outfit Details:
denim top: Express
striped top: Talbots
leggings: Forever 21
boots: Nine West
necklace: Bauble Bar via Nordstrom Rack (similar)
belt: BCBG MaxAzria

This denim shirt is one of my favorite things to wear. I decided it was time I needed to switch it up a little bit if I was going to wear it so often!

The piece is very easy to layer with, and plus it is extremely cold out so its always a good idea to layer in order to keep warm. I grabbed the striped top and popped it on underneath and then the final touches were the belt and necklace. Layering switchup complete!

Do you have a favorite top that you layer with all the time so you can get the optimum wear out of it?
