NYC How I Love You!

Outfit Details:

top: Ann Taylor
pants: Express
shoes: Aldo
bracelet: Gin & Juniper
bag: Dooney & Bourke via Threadflip

I absolutely love New York and when I am there the fast paced environment makes me feel productive, alive and ready to take on new projects. So when I couldn't go to fashion week because of work I was really sad. Even more so when I saw the news feeds exploding with all the happenings in New York during fashion week. This made me miss New York even more.

I was bursting with excitement when I was contacted by Audrey from Jordan Taylor and I figured why not use that as an excuse to make the trip up there!

This is what I wore and believe me when I say I did not make a wardrobing mistake here, finally! I wanted to wear something that was comfortable because I was going to be walking around the city all day and chic at the same time.

The Aldo boots were perfect for the job even though they are reaching the end of their journey with me and will have to retire soon. They have a nice heel, which only add to their comfort level. What could be better!

They have had a good run of things, taking me from show to show and everywhere in between. Next adventure in the world of fashion will be finding their replacement.

This outfit is a great beginning of fall choice because it kept me from getting cold but wasn't too heavy for when I was in the bright sunshine.

Hopefully soon I will be able to make another trip up north to see the city I love so much!

What is your favorite city?

Summer into Fall Transition I

Outfit Details:

dress: Jordan Taylor c/o
crop top: Kimchi Blue via Urban Outfitters
boots: Ninewest
sweater: Talbots
skirt: Forever 21

When you think about the transition into Fall, sometimes it may be gradual and other times it is so sudden you don't even have time to put on a coat before you are freezing your ass off. I am personally a huge fan of fall clothes and all the chicness they have to offer. The tall boots, the bulky sweaters all are some of my favorite pieces of clothing and fall is the perfect time to wear them and not have to hide your perfectly styled outfit with a coat.

As I said I love fall, but sometimes it is hard to give up some of those beautiful summer pieces of clothing. Summer is all about being in as little clothing as possible, and the amount that you do have on is a dream on your body.

Of course you can understand how I wouldn't want to give up those comfortable pieces, and in order to refrain from future poor wardrobe choices, the key is to recognize that the weather has gotten significantly chillier and then to understand that any summer pieces you want to transition into Fall need to be styled accordingly.

And the key to styling for the Fall in to layer, as you see I have quite a few layers on under this beautiful beach cover up from the Jordan Taylor SS 2013 collection. This outfit was the perfect opportunity for me to wear this new crop top that I purchased from Urban Outfitters and the grey suede boots keep the outfit on the softer side instead of having everything in black. This dress is perfect to keep wearing from Spring to Fall and then of course when I take a little vacay in the Winter!

How do you style those Summer pieces you just can't put away when it turns to Fall?

Jordan Taylor Spring 2014 Resort & Swimwear

I love their collections for this next Spring and Summer. The colors are even more vibrant, while still keeping the neutral colors that are always useful!

The resort wear collections should be available in December and Swimwear will launch in Springtime.

I am so excited about the swimwear because the details and patterns are chic and sexy! The detailing on the back of the suits is so intricate that you will definitely be turning heads in one of their suits. The shaping of the bodices are bustier style as well, which is one of my favorite styles for swimwear because they are not only flattering, but they add support as well!

As for the resort wear the styles are completely wearable from day, lounging by the pool or beach, to night, hopping from bar to bar!

Stay tuned to see how I styled the two pieces I got for a summer to fall transition!

Meet up with Audrey from Jordan Taylor Inc.

I had a wonderful day in New York City the main focus of my trip was to meet Audrey (of Audrey Allure), the PR manager for Jordan Taylor Inc, and pick up some goodies from Jordan Taylor.

I could have just had them sent to my house, but since I have been itching for an excuse to head up to NYC for such a long time (especially since I wasn't able to work NYC fashion week because of work); meeting up with Audrey and learning more about Jordan Taylor was the perfect excuse for a NYC trip!

My sister and I did a very quick day trip and even with all the time spent in the car it was definitely worth it. Audrey was absolutely lovely and gave me an in depth view into the Resort Wear brand and I got to see what they have coming out for their Spring/Summer 2014 lines.

Here is a bit more information about Jordan Taylor Inc.:

Jordan Taylor started with a plus size line and then expanded into sizing for all sizes in his Resort wear and swimwear. In 2006 Elif Katik joined the line and added a more contemporary feel to the line.

The Jordan Taylor is generated more toward mature women, while Elif for Jordan Taylor is generated for the younger, trendier crowd. For the SS 2014 line they will be introducing the first swimwear line from Elif for Jordan Taylor.

Elif for Jordan Taylor for SS 2013 was "ethereal and dreamlike" and composed of tunics, cover-ups, pants and dresses. All perfect pieces to take from the beach to a night out!

Jordan Taylor SS 2013 took inspiration from the sea with "maritime details." The used "chevron weaves, fishbone braids, and leaf crochet" in the fabrics of the tunics, cover ups, pants and dresses.

Check out their site, Jordan Taylor Inc.,to purchase their beautiful pieces!

Stay tuned for a peek into the SS 2014 line and how I styled the pieces they gave me as transitional outfits from Summer into Fall!
