Makeup Tutorial: Winging It Out

Products used:

I love a good winged liner or cat eye and have been working on perfecting my technique for sometime. This video shows the technique I have found is the easiest for me, whether using a brush and gel or liquid or a pen/maker type eyeliner (which is my favorite for personal use).

I hope you find this helpful! If there is a technique you love let me know below!

Makeup Tutorial: Vampy Glam

Check out the tutorial!!

Products Used:
Dior Highlighter (similar)

I had planned on doing this look before New Years Eve, but things got a bit busier than I had thought, so Jon and I had a nice, cozy night in to watch the ball drop. So I am glad I waited till I got this dress and had a place to wear it to in order to pair it with this vampy glam look.

The dark mysterious-ness of this black sequined dress complimented this deep vamp lipstick with my major winged eyeliner. If you aren't comfortable with this dramatic of a wing then just pair mascara with this lipstick for an equally chic, vampy glam look.

How do you all feel about this look? Do you love rocking an intense eye with a dark mysterious lip?

A Night Out

Outfit Details:
tights: via Macys
shoes: ShoeMint
snake ring: BCBG MaxAzria

For Jon's work holiday party I decided to jazz it up with some fun sequins and a different style than I normally wear. I got this dress from Piperlime during their additional 50% off sale after Christmas. It is part of the Piperlime collection, actually all the pieces I purchased from that sale were part of the Piperlime collection!

I loved so many pieces they created, they have pieces that all wardrobes need and plenty of different things to jazz up your wardrobe. I wanted to keep my purchases to pieces that would enhance my wardrobe and add something to it that I didn't already have.

This piece definitely fit the bill and was the perfect dress for a night of mingling with my fiancĂ© (eeks it still feels so crazy using that word) and his coworkers and dancing the night away.

For my actual outfit out I chose a slightly lower pair of heels since I knew there would be some walking and definitely some dancing!

Stay tuned for my makeup tutorial up this week on how to get this vampy look!

Don't forget to grab your bottle of Hypnotik Hair from 1am beauty before 2|14 and use code HYPLIP15 to get half off!!!!!

My Nude Lip

As you guys know I rarely wear lipstick that is closer to the nude end of the spectrum. I am just too much of a fan of a bold lip! It gives me the option of not needing to put a lot of eye makeup on in order to accomplish a polished look.

I did finally find my perfect nude, however, and it has just enough pigment not to wash me out and it is subtle enough to pair it with any look! Now that I have my perfect nude I see the appeal in wearing a softer lip on a day to day basis and not always reaching for the bright red or deep purple lipstick.

Dior has a great nude collection that they introduced into their Rouge Dior collection last Summer: the Rouge Dior Nude Lipstick. They created a variation of nudes for all different skin tones, it is a great place to start when looking for your perfect nude lip! My nude lip is  Rouge Dior Lipstick 434 Rose Samarcande and I paired it with a dramatic cat eye using my Diorshow Art Pen

What is your perfect nude lip?
