Scents to Influence Your Mood

Ever catch a whiff of an apple pie and you are taken back to that one Thanksgiving when the whole family was home and laughter filled the air, or smell a long forgotten perfume that you wore on a first date and can remember what you wore and how he looked at you when his eyes first met yours?

It is crazy how scent can influence your mood or take you back to a wonderful memory (or a bad one), I searched and found out which  scents can instill which kind of mood. I find this very helpful in keeping myself on track with my blog, or needing to wind down after a stressful day. I hope this list helps you to figure out which scent or scents you need in your life: (slick on the image to see where to buy)

Black & Gold

Outfit Details:
dress: Karen by Karen Kane(Similar)
bracelets: Lou lou & vintage
belt: Prairie Charms
tights: Nordstrom
boots:  Vince Camuto

As you all know I have to wear black a lot, so I try to find different ways to wear my black when not at work. This is an uber comfortable dress I got at Lord & Taylor and love the leather details on the shoulder. So not only can I wear this for work and stay warm in the cold weather, but I love wearing it as an everyday outfit.

In this instance I paired the dress with lots of chunky gold bracelets, a purple scarf and my fave new boots from Vince Camuto. I pulled on a pair of fishnet stockings to keep my legs a bit warm.

On the topic of fishnets: they are not always an easy accessory to pull off, since they are generally looked at as trashy. Personally I like fishnets and have since high school, I always try and find new ways to wear them so that they add to my outfit and don't distract. I have found that pairing them with tall boots and then keeping my dress on the modest side and not flaunting my tatas is a sure way to create a standout ensemble minus the trashiness.

How do you feel about fishnets? How do you jazz up your black clothing?
