Blue Plaid

Guess what season it is!?! It's Fall!!  Time to bring out the paid! I have plaid shirts I have stolen from my husband, found in thrift stores and gotten even though I didn't need them. They are probably my favorite piece of clothing to wear in the Fall. I pair them with skirts, boyfriend jeans, leggings, heels, flats or boots. The styling possibilities are absolutely endless!

What is your favorite piece of clothing to wear in the Fall?

Enjoy & Be Beautiful!!

Belted Chunky Sweater

Outfit Details:
skirt, sweater, belt and earrings all from Do You ...Deja Vu Boutique

There is nothing better than "cozying" up in a large sweater when the air gets chilly. Here I paired the sweater with a vintage pencil wool skirt and belted it to show my waist a little bit. I ended up getting the skirt of course because I absolutely love pencil skirts!

How do you wear your chunky sweaters during the cold months?!

Printed Casual

Outfit Details:
top: Macys
jeans: Express
bracelet: vintage

Who else has been enjoying this warm weather?! It has even been nice enough to pull those tanks out without having to immediately cover them up with a thick sweater! I have to say I don't hate it!

My boyfriend jeans are another piece that I am loving wearing longer; because once that wind picks up and it gets a tad nipplier outside the rips make the jeans an impractical wardrobe choice.

So I am going to appreciate this amazing weather for as long as I can! Anyone else enjoying this beautiful summer in fall weather?

Chiffon Skirt

Outfit Details:

top: Asos
skirt: handmade by Me
bag: Chictopia

When I started this blog and I finally decided on the title ' Lipstick & Chiffon', I knew one day I would need to have the perfect chiffon skirt, since I have other chiffon pieces I love, just never the perfect skirt! I have been searching and searching to no avail. I got a skirt that I thought would be the one...but it ended up not being the ONE.

One day I decided, hey I am going to go search for the perfect fabric for this amazing skirt I had in my head and just create it myself. And miracles of miracles I found it! I decided to combine the non-perfect skirt and the perfect material to create the skirt of my dreams.

Next I took out my dress form and cut the pink skirt to the length I wanted and took out the waist, so I could gather the material to create a more voluminous look. After I pinned it, I cut the white chiffon material and then gathered it over the pink. Final step was to sew it together and place the side zipper in the seam! I still plan on finishing the rough edges of the pink under-layer, but for now it is one of my favorite pieces that I have ever made (all by hand too!)!

There will definitely be more to come with this skirt! Do you have that perfect skirt that you are obsessed with?
