New Hair

Before:

Check out those roots!! I am so glad my hair is put together now!

After:

It was time. I absolutely loved the red hair, but the constant touching up of roots to keep it looking on point was starting to get tiring. So I made an appointment with Raquel to do something new. This new color and highlights will blend with my roots so much better and be lightened by the summer rays without turning orange. I am so excited and feel totally revived again!

I felt as if I was putting my hair on pause for a few months, and I just felt stuck. Finally I feel put together and refined and can't wait to keep showing it off on Lipstick & Chiffon. Here is to new things happening this year!

What do you guys think of the new hair?!

Going Natural... Well kind of

I love using just a serum in my damp hair after the shower and letting it air dry. That way I get lovely natural waves and I don't have to spend a lot of time on my hair and can focus on more important things like sleeping in or reading a romance novel or scrolling instagram.  The hair serum I am using is Hypnotik Hair from 1 am Beauty  (check out my other post about it: Product Review ). I have been very happy with it and plan on finishing the bottle!

Obviously this is not my hair 100% in its natural state, because red is not my natural hair color.  Most of you know this if you have known me longer than a year or have checked out some of my posts from further back. I have finally made the decision to go back to my natural color. That way if I do want that red back I will use my temp color from Clairol to jazz things up!

It's not that I don't love the red, I definitely do! I just don't like that I can't go back and forth between the blonde and red as easily as I used to.  Another aspect of this permanent red hair is the touch up. It is getting to be too much and I have gotten lazy, so now I have the lovely blonde roots majorly showing.

Over a full year of being a red head has been wonderful and I am so glad I tried the permanent red. I felt spunkier and more vibrant. Maybe it was because I was becoming more confident in my business or maybe it really was just the red hair (we may never know). But it is time. Granted my natural blonde hair does have some red in it so I am never truly without it, I just want to be lazy again without looking like a hot mess. You feel me?

What do you guys think? Excited for a lighter shade on the blog?

What should I do....

So I have come to a crossroads with my hair. This is about the time when I let my hair go back to blonde, but I have become so attached to the red (and I did permanent color this time around) that I don't know if I can do it.

Here is a little back story on why you see my hair change twice a year... In college when I was bored with my hair I would dye it to switch things up. Eventually it was getting too crazy (by my standards anyways) and my hair was starting to show the damage; so I restricted it to seasons. I love having red hair so much that I reserved it for winter (also so it wouldn't fade as quickly in the summer sun) so that I would have something to look forward to in order to survive the disgusting months of cold weather. Plus red hair looks really nice with fall colors.

So now I am in this predicament of if I should continue to touch up my roots every 3 weeks (don't know why it is growing so fast lol) or if I should just let my natural color have its time in the sun (literally).
