Date Night

Jon and I went on a wonderful date to celebrate out 1 year anniversary. We got delicious pizza at Matchbox in Falls Church and then went to see Star Trek.

It was a wonderful date night and a LBD (little black dress) was the perfect piece to wear! Granted I was a bit over dressed for the movies, but who cares. You can never go wrong with a LBD. Next week I will show you how to change up the style of your LBD so you can get more wear out of it!

Weekend in Ship

This is the outfit I wore this past Saturday for my sister's graduation. This is one of my favorite dresses that I own! It is so comfortable and definitely a dress I can count on to be there when I don't know what to wear!

I thought it went perfectly with the awesome shoes I got for my birthday from my sister. They are from the exclusive Julianne Hough collection on Sole Society. I absolutely love these shoes and they are extremely comfortable! I definitely recommend them either in this fabulous color or the nude or pink are great as well; a classic silhouette in a shiny patent leather.

This bag was an amazing deal that I got while in Venice, Italy shopping in one of the street markets. I was so proud of myself that I haggled a little bit as well!

It was definitely an eventful weekend and now I am so happy that my sister is home and now I can spend more time with her!

III: Going to a Spring or Summer Wedding and Don't Know What to Wear...

What to Wear to a Formal Wedding: Spring & Summer

When contemplating what to wear for a formal wedding, what always crosses your mind is "will I end up being too dressed up?" or "do people really know how to dress up formally anymore?"

My approach is always to dress for the occasion or a step above, because in my book you can't go wrong with being too dressy as long as you look and feel fabulous!

So for formal attire go with full length or you can find a chic, classic black cocktail dress (which is always the safe option when you aren't sure). Below I have created my own formal wedding outfit as well as three other options. I hope you enjoy!

corset: Frederick's of Hollywood; belt: BCBG; skirt: Staring at Stars; necklace: vintage; ring: Macy's; clutch: vintage; shoes: Sole Society (similar)

Here are some other options for a formal wedding this Spring and Summer:
dress: Modcloth; earrings: Alexis Bittar; clutch: Sondra Roberts; shoes: Modcloth

dress: Ralph Lauren; cuff bracelet: Alexis Bittar; bag: Modcloth; shoes: Modcloth

dress:French Connection; necklace: Majorica; clutch: RJ Skyler; shoes: BCBG

Minty Fresh

Mint in definitely a fresh trend this Spring. I was at a Cabi party that my sister and her friend were hosting and saw these lovely pants! It was love at first sight!

This is an awesome vintage Dooney & Bourke bag that I purchased from Katie Laine on Threadflip. I absolutely love this bag! It was such a good buy! Click here for a similar bag.

You don't realize how many outfit pairings you can make with these amazing pants until you are out shopping and you see top after top and think " this would look amazing with my mint jeans!"

So this is the first of possibly a few posts featuring these lovely pants!

Go out and find your perfect mint clothing companion to sport this spring!
