This little dress from Dresslink is so comfortable and perfect for hot days when you can't even fathom putting on clothes. Since it is loose and flowy, the slits on the sides aren't too risqué, unless of course it's windy outside....eeks!

Once it gets chilly, I can even pair this with some skinny jeans and wear it as a tunic.  I love this little dress and will definitely be wearing it a ton this summer!

Dresslink  has a lot of cute little number like this one for unbelievably low prices! So stock up you summer wardrobe now and never be stuck with having to put pants on during the hottest days of the year.

Fitness ... Getting into the Swing of Things

Fitness Blender 8 Week Fat Loss For Busy People

Fitness Blender 4 Week Stretching, Yoga & Pilates: For Flexibility & Total Body Toning

I discovered Fitness Blender about a year or so ago while searching for some quick workouts on YouTube. These have been the best at home workouts I have found so far! They are so easy to follow and I never feel intimidated by the amazing husband and wife team. They also have variations for every fitness level.

When I got engaged I knew I would need to get in shape at some point, nothing new since I have been on and off of the workout/healthy eating train for the past few years. At times I have been able to find the perfect balance of working out and eating healthy, but inevitably I fall off the train and either burnout from being tired or too hungry!

This time I finally hit that moment when I knew I wanted to change my eating habits and my fitness level. So I eased into it, I am not extremely strict on my eating habits, but have found that I do not get bad cravings as often, since I don't totally deprive myself from indulging once in a while.

As for working out, I had been doing 2-4 days of fitness blender workouts or walking/running a week. I got the top program and just set a start date and began! Today started week 3 of the 8 week program and I feel great!!! It is 5 days of workouts that are under 35 mins including a warm up and cool down, with optional extra credit options and for day 6 you have an optional stretch day. I have done the full 6 days for the first 2 weeks so far and really look forward to that day 6 of stretching.

I already feel stronger and a little bit leaner. Before I started I took before photos (eeks! definitely motivation to stick to this new lifestyle) and weighed myself and took my measurements. The first day of the challenge you do a physical fitness test, I didn't do horribly, but I am excited to see how far I have come by the end of the 8 weeks!

If any of you are struggling getting started or get discouraged easily, its okay! Never force yourself to start something that you aren't ready for. There is a moment in time when you know that you are ready to make a change, whether it is a small one or drastic change. Just try taking one day at a time and set little goals for yourself.

You can do it!!

Chiffon Skirt

Outfit Details:

top: Asos
skirt: handmade by Me
bag: Chictopia

When I started this blog and I finally decided on the title ' Lipstick & Chiffon', I knew one day I would need to have the perfect chiffon skirt, since I have other chiffon pieces I love, just never the perfect skirt! I have been searching and searching to no avail. I got a skirt that I thought would be the one...but it ended up not being the ONE.

One day I decided, hey I am going to go search for the perfect fabric for this amazing skirt I had in my head and just create it myself. And miracles of miracles I found it! I decided to combine the non-perfect skirt and the perfect material to create the skirt of my dreams.

Next I took out my dress form and cut the pink skirt to the length I wanted and took out the waist, so I could gather the material to create a more voluminous look. After I pinned it, I cut the white chiffon material and then gathered it over the pink. Final step was to sew it together and place the side zipper in the seam! I still plan on finishing the rough edges of the pink under-layer, but for now it is one of my favorite pieces that I have ever made (all by hand too!)!

There will definitely be more to come with this skirt! Do you have that perfect skirt that you are obsessed with?

Clam Bake Attire

Outfit Details:
dress: Talbots
belt: via Hautelook
shoes: Talbots
clutch: BCBG MaxAzria

While I was in Newport, RI for my cousin's wedding I got to go to a clam bake! Here is what I wore!
What do you think?

I am seriously contemplating adding more shirt dresses to my closet. This dress was so comfortable in the hot sun and breathed nicely. I love the retro look I created with the red lip and winged liner. I used my tiny wand curling iron to get tighter waves/curls in my hair, which was the perfect prep for the look I did for the wedding. I added the belt to help define my waist and in stead of sky high heels I struck to these low nude sandals to make the look more casual.

What do you wear to a clam bake?
