New Exciting Products in Dior

As most of you know I am a freelance makeup specialist/artist for Dior in the Northern Virginia, DC & MD areas, so I am able to find out about all of the lovely new products that they are going to add/have added to their amazing array of products.

Here are just a few products I am obsessed with at the moment:

I love doing a french manicure on my nails when I want to look extra chic, so this pen makes it very easy to draw a straight line in a flash. I do two coats of the white on the tips just to make sure it looks perfect. After I used the Abricot base coat (extra nourishing for your nails picture below) I apply the white with the pen. This dries fairly quickly and when it is fully dry I add one of the Diorlisse Abricot Ridge Fillers (shown below) to complete the french manicure look. The Diorlisse Abricot 500 gives a cooler tone to the french manicure and makes the white pop, with the Diorlisse Abricot 800 you get a more peachy french manicure. All great additions to the Dior Manicure line, they all are going to help strengthen and nourish your nails, even the new colors added to go with the new Rouge Dior collection.  And of course finish with the Dior Top Coat Abricot for a fresh and nourishing manicure!

To take off your polish when it is time, Dior is now selling the Dior Dissolvant Abricot to gently remove the polish without stripping the nail.

Dior Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil

Another product I am drying to get my hands on is the Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil. This product can be used on any skin type and will melt away your makeup and leave your skin soft and clean. To use you massage the product into the skin and then wash off with water, leaving no oily residue behind! Just clean skin! This is especially great for the fall and winter months which seem to be approaching quite quickly or for those who have extremely dry skin.

Dior Contour Lipliner Pencil

Dior has redone their rouge line of lipsticks and liners and I love it! They kept the most popular colors and added a few beautiful shades! The texture is just as creamy as the past version and lasts even longer especially if you pair it with the new Dior Contour liner. They still have my favorite Rouge 999 and now they finally have the liner to go with it! Trafalgar is another one I need to add to my lipstick collection.

Don't forget to stop by your closest Dior counter to check all of these things out! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Has anyone already stocked up on these items? Which ones are your favorites?

Adventures at Potomac Point Winery

sunglasses: C. Wonder; top: H & M; pants: Cotton on via Plato's Closet; shoes: Aldo

On Sunday I went to Potomac Point Vineyard & Winery for a tasting and some lunch. My sister's friend Annie was visiting so it was the perfect opportunity to try this place out, especially since it is so close to home!

I had never been to this winery before, so when we pulled up it truly exceeded my expectations! It felt as as if we had been transported to Italy! The weather was so perfect that it made the atmosphere even more magical.

I loved pretty much all the wines we tasted and the food we got was absolutely to die for! I got a lamb panini and for a little treatie afterwards I got the Strawberry and Rhubarb pie. Both were so deliciously mouthwatering and I would love to go to lunch there everyday!

Please go and check it out if you have not had the pleasure yet! Get a glass of wine and some food and let yourself be transported to a relaxing and magical place! Potomac Point Vineyard & Winery is definitely a must-go for all you winery lovers out there!

Emitations Review

I had the honor of being given some pieces from Emitations to incorporate in my style posts. Though before I said yes to this opportunity I checked out the site to make sure their jewelry was actually something I would wear....And it was! They have a lot of fun rings and some breautiful bracelets and earrings.

I got an oval pave pair of earrings, gold bracelet/bangle, and a silver bangle. The bracelets are perfect for stacking with other bracelets. The earrings are great for adding a bit of "bling" to an outfit.

They have a fun array of costume jewelry and statement rings. This site is great for those of you who want to have a bit of icing, but don't want to go bankrupt. Go and check it out what they have to offer!

Lunch at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards

As you know the other day I had a lovely lunch at the amazing Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards with my sister.

We did a little wine tasting to begin the lunch so we could figure out what bottle of wine we wanted with lunch (of course a very important part of the meal!). We decided on the Winemaker's Select White 2012, it was light and refreshing! Perfect for a summer midday meal.

We decided to go the whole nine yards and make it a 3-course meal extravaganza! We started with the beautiful Charcuterie, which as you can see is a hearty mix of meats and bread with a delicious arugula pesto and grape must mustard. It was so so so yummy!

For the main dish we both got the Pippin Sliders, which are two mini burgers (fancy burgers) with a side of parmesan fries.  Again a very delicious choice.

For the treatie part I got the Petit Verdot Cupcakes. I only decided to get these because I saw our waitress walk by with a plate of them for another table. They looked so yummy I just had to have them. They have a creamy thyme frosting paired with the dark chocolate cake. Just the perfect amount of sweet to end a meal. My sister got a glass of the Petit Manseng Vin Doux Naturale (their dessert wine), which was absolutely divine!

We finally packed up and headed home after devouring a 3-course meal, bottle of wine (I didn't drink that much since I had to drive), and  purchased 3 bottles of wine (the Winemaker's Select White 2012, the Petit Manseng Vin Doux Naturale and the Winemaker's Select Red 2011). What a relaxing day it ended up being!

If you have not had the pleasure of stopping in for a glass of wine or a little treatie, please take the time to smell the roses and stop by! The staff is a group of friendly and lovely people who truly make you feel at home. Go check it out!
